A boggy, wet and windy hike up the Dragon's Back - which is much steeper and impressive than OS Maps would have you believe. Dramatic walk into the thick fog on the plateau - struggling to find a camping spot before the sun set. Then the clouds opened, the wind and rain dropped, and the night was stunningly peaceful and still - followed by an amazing sun rise. Didn't see a single person until I saw a trail of headlamp wearing night hikers at 11pm, dotting the trail down the ridge into the distant darkness. A tough circular hike with my winter gear - but I will be back.
