#89 Weston-Super-Mare
April, 2024
Weston-super-Mare's Birnbeck Pier, also known as the Old Pier, stands as a haunting silhouette against the Bristol Channel. Once a grand Victorian structure boasting amusements and a link to Birnbeck Island, it's now a Grade II* listed landmark in a sorry state. Damaged by storms and closed to the public since 1994, its future remains uncertain.
